SUBJECT: QA HAZARDOUS RECALL – Frigidaire Recalls Clothes Washers Due to Fire Hazard

DISTRIBUTION: AAFES Main Stores

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Frigidaire, of Cleveland, Ohio is voluntarily recalling various models of Clothes Washers. Consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately. AAFES only sold the 2 models listed below.

Name of Product: Crosley®, Frigidaire®, Kelvinator®, Kenmore®, Wascomat®, and White-Westinghouse® clothes washers.

Units: About 35,000

Manufactured in: USA

Hazard:  An internal defect in the washer’s drain pump can cause heat to build up, posing a fire hazard to the consumer.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the affected models and contact Frigidaire to schedule a free repair.
