Scope: Worldwide The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling numerous styles of Simplicity Brand Drop Side Cribs manufactured by Simplicity Inc. due to an entrapment and suffocation safety risk. Name of Products: Simplicity Brand Drop Side Cribs Units: About 400,000 Importer/Distributor: Simplicity Inc., of Reading, Pa. (this company is no longer in business) Manufactured in: China Hazard: The crib’s plastic hardware can break or deform, causing the drop side to detach. When the drop side detaches, it creates space between the drop side and the crib mattress. Infants and toddlers can roll into this space and become entrapped which can lead to suffocation.
