SUBJECT: QA HAZARDOUS RECALL – Acer America Corp. Recalls Desktop Computers due to overheating and burn hazard

Scope: Worldwide (Catalog / Internet only)

Name of product: Acer Predator Desktop Computers model numbers ASG7200 and ASG7700, Made in China, were sold via AAFES catalog and internet from May 2008 through December 2008.

Hazard: The insulation on the computer’s internal wiring can become bent or stripped, causing the wires to overheat while the product is in use. This poses a burn hazard to consumers
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled computers and contact Acer to schedule a free repair.

Consumer Contact: Customer calls Acer End-User support @ 1-800-816-2237. Acer will ship the replacement parts and schedule an onsite repair to complete the installation.
