SUBJECT: HAZARDOUS FOOD RECALL - Nissin Foods (USA) Co is voluntarily recalling Nissin Cup Noodles ShrimpDISTRIBUTION: WORLDWIDE Nissin Foods (USA) Co., Inc. announced a voluntary nationwide recall of selected shrimp-flavored noodle products as a safety precaution after it was discovered that the seafood-flavored powder used in these Nissin products also contains cod and lobster.
HAZARD: Individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cod or lobster may run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these specific shrimp-flavored products.
ITEM DESCRIPTIONS: The recalled products were distributed throughout the United States through grocery stores and other food stores, under the names Nissin Cup Noodles Shrimp and Nissin Original Chow Mein Shrimp.
Nissin Cup Noodles Shrimp: UPC # 70662-03002-8 (AAFES carried only this item)
Nissin Original Chow Mein Shrimp: UPC # 70662-08722-0
Nissin Cup Noodles Shrimp was also sold through Wal-Mart stores under the label "Great Value Instant Shrimp" at Winn Dixie stores under the label "Thrifty Maid with Shrimp Oriental Noodles with Vegetables" and at Aldi grocery stores under the label "Jehling Ramen Noodle Soup Cup with Shrimp and Vegetables."
Instructions to Overseas Customers: Overseas customers may return the recalled product to AAFES stores for a full refund.
Instructions to CONUS Customers: Customers should send UPC code to the supplier at the following address to receive a full refund and a supplemental coupon.
