SUBJECT: NON-HAZARDOUS RECALL -Novartis Consumer Health, Inc. (NCH) is conducting a voluntary withdrawal of its two infant cough and cold products: Triaminic® Infant & Toddler Thin Strips® Decongestant, and Triaminic® Infant & Toddler Thin Strips® Decongestant Plus Cough, as part of an industry-wide initiative.


Scope: Worldwide

ISSUE: The makers of infant cough and cold products are acting together to take this precautionary measure to avoid potential misuse of these products, including unintentional overdose, in infants less than two years old.

All Triaminic cough and cold products are safe when used as directed, and most parents are using them appropriately. This action is not a result of specific events linked to Triaminic® products. Accurate dosing and safety are the top priorities of NCH.

This withdrawal affects only the two SKUs listed below and does not affect any other Triaminic or Triaminic Thin Strips products. AAFES only carries the first item highlighted below.

REMEDY: Consumers should immediately stop administering the aforementioned product to children and return the unused strips to your local PX/BX for a full refund.
